When it’s time to hit the showstoppers in the gym, save the legs for Leg Day and cover them up with a fashionable pair of joggers. Want to show off in a tank top? Make sure you do it in one with durability and style. This fit combo can help you zoom in on that mind to muscle connection. You’ll also look good while doing it.
Casual Cardio: Shorts and Cotton T-Shirt
Going out for a jog? Need to get in an hour on the treadmill? You don’t need special fitness apparel to get in your weekly cardio workout, but it doesn’t hurt to look good as you run around the block. Obviously, shorts are the ideal cardio workout clothing. They are lightweight, breathable, and durable. Pair this with your classic cotton t-shirt for comfort and style. Pair a quality and stylish pair of lifestyle shorts with a hoodie. The extra layer will help to crank up your body temperature and skyrocket your metabolism. You’ll walk out of the gym drenched in sweat, the sign of a good workout.
On the Town
You’re all suited up for your weekly workouts. What about when you’re out and about? Think there is fitness gear that’s appropriate to wear outside the weight room?
Errands: Joggers and T-Shirt
Joggers have come a long way from their sweatpants counterpart. Joggers fit better, featuring an elastic band at the ankle. Joggers are more durable. Some even mimic suit pants. Again, joggers are quite fashionable now. If girls can get away with leggings, you can proudly sport a nice pair of joggers – just make sure they look clean and trimmed. Joggers get a slide in a casual setting, especially if they are paired with a nice long sleeve shirt.
Durability Required: Jeans and a T-Shirt
Did you just get a call from a friend to help him move? Need to lend a hand and do yardwork for your girlfriend’s mother? Maybe you’re finally rebuilding that bookshelf that’s been sitting in the dusty corner for months. When you need clothing that is tough and meant to get in harm’s way, you’ll need the duo of jeans and a durable t-shirt. Jeans aren’t fitness friendly but they are great for physical activity outside of the gym. As for a t-shirt, that’s an easy choice for exercise clothing that looks great and can easily be washed to look brand new after heavy duty chores.
Fitness First Date: Joggers and Button-Down:
Under no circumstances should you show up to a four-star restaurant in joggers, a tank top, and a pair of sneakers. The exception to the rule is when you and your date have agreed on a more fun and fitness-focused first date. If you invite her to a friendly 5k race, a trampoline room, or an obstacle course, joggers are an appropriate way to go. That doesn’t mean you can’t look your best. Remember that most joggers look like semi-formal pants now. While your date might be centered around having fun and being active, your clothing can still look like it’s meant for a dinner date.
